Chris has owned and been Construction Manager of his own Oilfield Construction Company for the last 25 years. Chris started as a welder in the field and worked his way up to owning his own company and employing over 200 employees.

His Project Management experience is extensive and his skill set includes, but is not limited to:

  • Contract review
  • Estimating
  • Contract completion
  • Project design, drafting and evaluation
  • Procurement
  • Pipeline construction
  • Welding, pipefitting and assembly

Chris’s credentials include:

  • API 570 trained
  • Alberta “B” Pressure Welder – Red Seal
  • Level 2 CWB Welding Inspector
  • Safety training includes: H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Protection, WHMIS, Leadership for Safety Excellence, Principals of Health and Safety Management, Legislation Awareness, Prime Contractor and Ground Disturbance.

Chris’s vast knowledge of the oilfield construction industry has made him a valuable asset in the planning and execution of many large projects, both from an engineering standpoint and from an owner’s point of view.

Rick Blair

VP of Business Operations

Rick owned and managed his own business for 25 years and has 30 years of business management experience, specifically in accounting (AR/AP, balance sheets, statements, short and long term cash flow projections and bank facility reviews), cost tracking, budgeting, contract review, insurance and bonding.

Rick is now the VP of business operations for Train Oilfield Services.  He is in charge of all financial matters pertaining to the day to day operations and the long term financial forecasts and budgeting.

Rick’s extensive experience is utilized in his role to help pre-qual potential contractors, taking into account all financial, insurance and bonding issues and to assist in the implementation of the contract and to make sure all facets of the contract are being followed.  Rick thrives in a team environment and works closely with the Project Manager to ensure a free flow of information.

Murray Thursby

Procurement/QC Manager

Murray has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years. Most, recently, Murray worked for a diversified global corporation and held a manager’s position.  He is responsible for the daily supervision of the QC/QA, equipment and manpower.  He has held various positions in the industry that give him the skills and knowledge to be successful in the construction of oil and gas facilities.

Murray’s credentials include:

  • Journeyman Steel Fabricator
  • Level 1 CWB Welding Inspector

Jen Brado

AR/AP

Jennifer has extensive training and experience in the accounting field and is proficient with the Sage 50 program. She excels at AR/AP, Invoicing, Payroll Administration, Credit Card and Fleet Fuel Card Management and other Senior Administration duties. Jennifer’s attention to detail and her professionalism in dealing with employees, vendors and customers makes her a great asset the Train.

Erik Svendsen

Project Engineer

Erik is a professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has 14 years of experience in facility engineering and project management, working for oil producers, engineering firms, and construction companies. Erik’s vast knowledge and attention to detail make him a valuable asset to Train.

Nolan McInnis

Quality Control

Nolan is an up and coming Quality Control Manager. He has been working in the oil and gas industry for 5 years, all with Train Oilfield Services Ltd. He is in the process of certifying himself as a CWB Structural Steel Welding Supervisor and CWB Level 1 Welding Inspector, as well as others. He has knowledge of many aspects of oilfield construction such as lead hand capability, pipefitting, hydro testing, welding and equipment operation. His problem solving skills, people skills and willingness to learn make him a positive asset to the Train Oilfield Team.
